Stony Point cyclist Michael Pagano is hosting training rides for the MS Bike tour on Saturdays from now until Sept. 25.
The training rides alternate between Harriman State Park and Rockland Lake State Park. The Harriman ride is geared toward those doing the long (60 mile) route. The Rockland Lake rides are for the less experienced, shorter (20 mile) route participants.
On Aug. 7, Aug. 21, Sept. 4 and Sept. 18, the rides meet in the north parking field of Rockland Lake State Park at 7 a.m.
The group will ride the outer, 3.5-mile loop in a counter-clockwise direction so if you get there late start your ride in a clockwise direction and you’ll meet up with the group before too long.
This is a great ride for anyone who has not been on the bike much but is looking to get started. The ride can be as long or as short as you want with the pace will be easy.
The Harriman rides are on July 31, Aug. 14, Aug. 28 and Sept. 11. They start at 7:30 a.m. at the Lake Askoti/Lake Skannatati parking area on the west side of Seven Lakes drive just north of the Kanawauke Circle.
There are other training rides scheduled and Michael invites any riders interested to visit the NYC MS Society MSBike web page
