The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter has announced its executive leadership committee for the 2013 Light The Night Walks. This years walks are on Oct. 19 at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, Oct. 20 at Provident Bank Park in Pomona and Nov. 2 at Playland in Rye. The committee is charged with finding corporate and other sponsors for the walks and has increased the event’s revenue by 50 percent in the past five years. In 2012, the events attracted 5,000 walkers who raised $855,000 for research and support for people with cancer. This year’s goal is $1 million.
